It’s that time of the week again when we round up all the best new movie trailers and TV teasers released over the past seven days. Today’s list includes all new titles headed to popular streaming platforms. It’s been a relatively quiet week on the trailer front, but there’s plenty to look forward to if you’re a Netflix or Amazon Prime Video subscriber. So have a seat, hit play, and enjoy this week’s hot new trailers.
The best new movie trailers and TV show teasers for upcoming streaming titles
The Next 365 Days
The sequel to Netflix’s saucy Fifty Shades rival finally gets its official trailer. Laura makes a triumphant return from near-death, but her relationship with Massimo now faces a new challenge from the mysterious Nacho. Like the original, The Next 365 Days promises plenty of plot points that make no sense, but that’s just part of this series’ charm, I guess? Catch the flick on Netflix on August 19.
Do Revenge
The premise of Do Revenge has got me pretty interested. Billed as a “Hitchcockian dark comedy,” it stars Camila Mendes and Maya Hawke as teenagers Drea who are bound together with the same goal — to take revenge on the people who ruined their lives. The flick only outs in September, so expect a few teasers before its release.
Seoul Vibe
Here’s one for Fast and the Furious fans. Set in Seoul in 1988, a group of street-racing toughs is charged with an undercover job that’s hard to refuse. You’ll likely recognize some of the cast members, including Yoo Ah-in from Netflix’s other hit Hellbound and Go Kyung-pyo from Reply 1988. Catch Seoul Vibe on Netflix from August 26.
Fakes
Two teenagers agree to make each other fake IDs, but what starts as a means to an end spirals into a massive enterprise. The premise could probably work as a movie, but this young adult crime series promises a more detailed look at our antiheroes. Catch it on Netflix from September 2.
Catherine Called Birdy
This new Lena Dunham-directed dark comedy explores the life of 14-year-old Lady Catherine or Birdy. With a family that’s “destitute and utterly greedy,” Birdy is forced by her father to marry a wealthy man. However, Birdy’s having none of it. Adapted from Karen Cushman’s book of the same name, the flick’s loaded with plenty of dark humor and social commentary. Catch the film on September 23 in theaters and on Amazon Prime Video on October 7.
