TL;DR
- Asus will be adding a third model to its ROG Phone 6 series.
- The new gaming phone will be called the ROG Phone 6D Ultimate.
- The phone will be powered by Dimensity 9000 Plus and will be revealed on September 19.
Earlier this year, Asus released two superpowered gaming phones: the ROG Phone 6 and the ROG Phone 6 Pro. However, it looks like the company isn’t done yet as it plans on adding a third model to the ROG Phone 6 series.
In a tweet released earlier today, Asus teased that, “The ROG Phone 6 is entering its ULTIMATE form!” According to the tweet, that ultimate form will be known as the ROG Phone 6D Ultimate and it will be unveiled on September 19.

As with most teasers, there’s not a whole lot of information provided here. However, it did mention one noteworthy detail, which is that the phone will have Mediatek’s latest Dimensity 9000 Plus smartphone chip.
Mediatek claims that this souped-up version of the previous Dimensity 9000 chip is able to deliver performance-leading CPU and graphics without sacrificing battery life. If you’d like to see the full details on the Dimensity 9000 Plus chip, you can visit Mediatek’s website.
From the resolution to the battery, the specs for the ROG Phone 6 and the ROG Phone 6 Pro have a lot in common. The main differences are mostly just the amount RAM — 16GB of RAM with 512GB of storage for the base model and 18GB of RAM with 512GB of storage for the Pro — and the price. It wouldn’t be a surprise if the ROG Phone 6D Ultimate followed similar design cues outside of adding the Dimensity 9000 Plus chip.
